XRF Analysis

X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is a quick and completely non-destructive method to perform elemental analysis in all kinds of samples, no matter if plastics, metals or soil must be analysed. XRF analysis combines high accuracy and precision with efficient sample preparation for the analysis of elements from Beryllium (Be) to Uranium (U) down to part per million (PPM) level.

Q-Pall is using this method to confirm that their products are in compliance with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive. The materials regulated in the RoHS are lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDE). The handheld XRF gun used is specifically suitable to screen these materials by detecting the regulated materials in polymers and plastics.
